No one should have to choose between paying rent and seeing a doctor.

Health care is too expensive, too complicated, and leaves too many people behind. We need to lower costs, cut waste and make accessing health care simple and reliable. 

I will fight to protect and expand Medi-Cal health care coverage. We cannot allow budget cuts or federal rollbacks to strip coverage from seniors, children, working families, or immigrants. Quality care for patients starts with making sure the people providing care are respected and supported. Nurses, therapists, technicians, and support staff deserve fair wages, strong benefits, secure pensions, and the right to join a union.

As your Assemblymember, I will work to make health care more accessible and affordable by:

• Protecting and expanding Medi-Cal coverage.

• Guaranteeing comprehensive coverage for all Californians.

• Eliminating premiums, copays, deductibles, and surprise medical bills.

• Expanding access to mental and behavioral health care and ensuring providers are adequately funded and available in underserved communities.

• Lowering prescription drug costs and eliminating the profit-driven middlemen that increase prices for patients.

• Investing in community clinics and safety-net providers and supporting the health care workers who serve our communities with fair wages, safe staffing levels, and strong labor protections.

• Strengthening state oversight of insurance companies and empowering regulators to monitor compliance, reduce wrongful denials, and hold corporations accountable.
